Organised by the International Press Institute (IPI), this international summit will offer a unique public forum for the discussion of important global media and energy issues.
This high-profile gathering will take place from September 17–19, 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan and will bring together leading energy reporters, business and financial journalists, and major players in the oil and gas industry to explore how public opinion, freedom of information and media relations all intersect with the oil and gas industries.
Doha Centre for Media Freedom will sponsor 3 journalists from Qatar to take part in this international summit.
The conference will enable attendees to delve into deep discussions, create new relationships, propose new means for positive change and then empower participants to take action.
The programme includes roundtable discussions on the points of intersection between energy and security, energy and democracy; and their impact on the media in general, and press freedom in particular.
