The Yemen Journalists Syndicate released a statement yesterday, demanding the release of ten journalists detained by Houthis and will be tried before Yemeni State Security Court.

“YJS learned from legal sources that the files of ten journalists kidnapped for more than two years by the Houthi group have been referred to the specialized criminal prosecution, the State Security Court.

The Syndicate reiterates its demand for the speedy release of all abducted journalists, and refuses the decision to prosecute journalists before the State Security Court, which denies them the right of defense and does not provide the minimum conditions for a fair trial” said the statement.

The Syndicate also renewed its condemnation of the violations and abuse carried out against journalists in Yemen that has been going on for more than two years.
