Apply today for the “Create UNAOC Challenge”
Doha Centre for Media Freedom (DCMF) is partnering with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations to make the “Create UNAOC challenge” competition a success. Winner of this competition will be announced at the UNAOC Forum to be held in Vienna, February 2013.
Create UNAOC Challenge competition aims at promoting intercultural dialogue through technology.
UNAOC invites individuals and teams to develop new mobile apps or games that aim at improving understanding among people and in supporting gender equality, youth development, migrant integration, religious pluralism.
Doha Centre for Media Freedom encourages residents of Qatar and the region to apply to the competition and put forward their innovative ideas at the UNAOC Forum in Vienna from 27-28 February.
Registration and submission requirements:
- Developers may register to participate in the competition between July 16 to November 30th.
- The competition is open to beginners and experts.
- You must be 13 years of age or older.
- You can register as an individual or as a team consisting of 5 members maximum.
By January 3 2013, 5 finalists will be selected. Developers will be notified and awarded 5000 dollars per application to complete development of a fully functional application or game by February 15 2013.
Entries will be played and rated by participants during the 2013 UNAOC Forum in Vienna, in Austria from February 27 to 28.
A grand prize will be awarded after the Vienna forum. Selected apps will be featured and made available for free downloads at the challenge website, at DCMF website as well as at other industry standard platforms.
